I'll add my thanks to Colin for the entire 4Specs site. I like the forum, but I've found the home page very useful.

Colin has been a great help to all of us in many ways, from the cataloging to the discussions to the "no registration" buttons. He's made our jobs easier. So thanks, Colin! Stay warm and hope to see you next year.

Thank you Colin.
I have, and hope to continue to use 4 Specs as my primary resource for manufacturer sites/contacts and check this discussion site a few times a week and more often when I get a notification of a timely topic.
The Changes segment is also one of the few ways I can keep track of the ever changing manufacturer acquisitions, mergers, and closings.

My question to Colin...is there a succession plan...when Colin retires?

-----
On vacation and I'll respond in more detail when I am back. Colin

I have is formal succession plan. If I were to die unexpectedly the 4specs website and discussion forum would continue to run with no updating or advertising renewals. The hosting and domain management fees would be drawn from the corporate checking account as long as needed until someone else took over.

I maintain an operations manual describing how I maintain 4specs and the passwords to the web server and email accounts and financial accounts.

This operations manual includes people to contact to discuss what is needed for 4specs to run into the future and to set up a sale or new manager.

That said, I am 76 years old and am in great shape. I intend to run 4specs for a long time. I appreciate the continued mental challenge as it keeps me alert and financially solid. When I take vacation time off I am reminded of the benefits of mental challenges and staying in good shape physically.

Sounds more like you're 76 years young! (grin) Seriously, Colin, I hope you do continue well into the future. The industry needs what you're doing, and it needs you. (I've got you by about 2 years)

My question wasn't intended for Colin to reveal the extent/detail of succession, but more for about the continuation of this forum/website into the future...whether by choice (i.e., retiring) or otherwise (heaven forbid). But thanks Colin.
