I'm not sure what the link has to do with Colin maintaining this board but I do want to add my thanks. I have found 4specs.com in general, and the discussion forum in particular, to be very valuable in my work. I've met many of you in person at CSI and AIA functions but I feel like I know all frequent contributors well and have a level of trust in the information you provide. I also value your opinions because you show a passion for your work that the A/E/C field demands. Kudos, Colin. Keep up the great work. |

Yes, thanks to Colin for allowing us freedom to ask and answer questions about a variety of topics. I have learned so much from this website and I hope it continues for a long time... Kudos to Colin and all the people here! |

Since I retired, I haven't used/posted anything much. But I still read most of what comes into my email and I still learn a lot of stuff. I have spread the word about this site and forum to many people in the industry because I KNOW its value. Thank you, Colin, for doing this and all the other peripheral stuff - like the "no registration" buttons! (They are still talked about) |

Thank you, Colin! I didn't realize that 4specs has been around almost 20 years. I've been browsing the forum almost every day for most of that time, and have learned a lot from the discussions. |

One of my proudest professional moments was successfully asking Colin to create a new channel on 4Specs (Construction Contract Administration Discussions). It was then that I realized I among professionals peers, not just the apprentice. .....until I started contributing, thus proving otherwise :-) |

Nathan, I celebrated a "landmark" birthday last month. One thing I've realized over the decades is the more I know the more I don't know. There is an upside of course: I don't have to worry about running out of things to learn :-) and I have a VAST resource of great knowledge to tap into. Life is a journey. Believe me when I say your contributions, and those of our 4specs fellow travelers, are valuable and much appreciated. |

One of my co-workers was fond of saying "Why do you think they call it a practice?" I would then respond with "When are we going to get to do it for real?" Since I started architecture school in the mid-60s and got my first summer job in an office the next summer, I can't think of anything in construction that hasn't changes including the size of a 2X4 and the process for manufacturing glass. Ah, Peter, the changes you must have witnessed. :-) Your experience, and that of others, is what makes this forum so valuable. Someday I need to dig through my "archives" and find a home-made card a good friend gave me when I graduated. It read "James Sandoz - practicing architecture until he gets it right." Well, I'm still practicing. |
