Dumb question - which section does one specify a knox box, is it considered part of the MEP specs or Architectural? |

Concensus seems to place it in or around hardware in Div. 08. See previous discussion: Knox Box The first time I specified one, I put it in Div. 13... not sure why now, but I guess it made sense at the time. Div. 08 sure makes a lot more sense to me now. |

George, During buidling department review we usually see comments from Fire department regarding Knox Box, maybe that's why you placed it in Div. 13, I was thinking about Div. 10, but I'm unsure...just want to make sure its located somewhere in the specifications. |

08-7913 - Key Storage Equipment seems reasonable. |

I've seen it included in Division 10 in it's own section, or sometimes included with the fire extinguishers and cabinets. One time it showed up in a Division 11 section. My preference would be Division 10. This is a "device" that is only used by the Fire Department and they're not just for keys. |

10 41 16 Emergency Key Cabinets is the section we use to specify Knox Boxes. |
