I had an email today from a specifier who was getting a notice when he went to the 4specs forum - using Microsoft Edge "The information you are about to submit is not secure." He said he was not able to go around the problem. I suggested he try another browser as I thought it was his computer trying to protect him. I suggested he try Firefox and it worked. Brave, Chrome and Edge are all based on Google Chrome code and may have the same problem. The software behind the 4specs forum is old and the developer is no longer in business. Several years ago I tried to change the forum program to a more "modern" one. I also tried to change the program to use https secure urls, and it failed. What makes this forum responsive is because of emails sent on EVERY posting if requested by the user. None of the modern forum programs offer this as an option. They are designed for large user groups, while the 4specs forum is a small user group. I plan to continue this forum as is as it works. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Happy 2024! Thank you for all your work on this forum. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it! I started having that problem. I can't search for subjects that may have been covered. But I can access the discussions, which is great. Autofill is turned off, but whoop-de-doo. I only have Edge and Chrome on my work computer. So the down side is I may have to reask questions that have already been answered, and I apologize for that. Thank you again for the GREAT forum! Happy Holidays and the best for 2024! |
