Well it looks like there is a new kid on the block! I am receiving advertisements for a specification writing program called NBS (Never Better Specs) Chorus. Is anyone else receiving these advertisements? David G. Axt, CDT, CCS, CSI, SCIP Specifications Consultant Axt Consulting LLC |

They are getting into the US market. They have been around for the UK for awhile. I did a test run with them. I figured they should have good content, and they had been online for awhile and should have had most of the issues ironed out. It was a little weird because what you see on the screen is based on UK outline form, but they have a nifty way to export it to good ol' US CSI outline form. That was easy to get accustomed to. I expected more content since they have been around for awhile. The content is not bad, but it is not as wide and far ranging as MasterSpec. They are very responsive to suggestions and are probably incorporating what I suggested. For example, I thought it would be more helpful to be able to edit selections, and to be able to add selections. (I shared that with them.) SpecLink does have that ability. I don't know how it compares to SpecPoint because I have only watched videos about SpecPoint and have never sat in the driver's seat. I elected to have us stay with SpecLink because it was easier to stay with them, and my biggest issue with SpecLink is the content. I may revisit NBS Chorus again in the future. |
