Per project correspondence and online news, Hufcor appears to have ceased operations and is moving / has moved manufacturing to Mexico. Projects not able to obtain specified products.

I would appreciate comments regarding Moderco's project performance: durability, shipping - could be sent to me at phil@specguy.com.

Don't have any experience with Moderco, but I approved a Substitution request last month for Moderco because of Hufcor's situation. Won't be installed for another year.

Has Hufcor completely ceased operations or just moved manufacturing to Mexico? Either way it is important to know. The web site does not indicate a cessation of operations. The holding company that bought Hufcor seem truly Draconian according to what I am finding online.

Doesn't sound like a done deal:

As an aside, I've been including Moderco in my specs for a few years now. I only spec single panel partitions so I haven't heard anything negative about them. I've never had good results with multi-panel installations regardless of whose products I've used.

We have a very good Moderco rep in Houston and have received very good support for their products. In doing a renovation recently, we discovered a Moderco label on a 20-year old installation.

We've included Moderco in our specifications for quite a while, and we've gotten good support from them as well. The only thing definite I've heard about Hufcor is that we had a West Coast project where the team had specified one of their vertically folding partitions, and were informed by the Contractor that they were unable to obtain the product. I am not sure at this point how that got resolved.
