Does anyone have experience with Allura fiber cement siding? An architectural client received a substitution request (Hardieboard was basis of design) for Allura. I have specified it in the past, but the architect says there are lawsuits over this product. David G. Axt, CCS, CSI, SCIP Specifications Consultant Axt Consulting LLC |

I have no experience with them, but am amused by this statement on https://allurausa.com: "Long-lasting Allura products are built to last a decade without even breaking a sweat." A decade is not a long time in the life of a building. Do they start perspiring after 10 years? Michael Chusid, RA FCSI CCS 1-818-219-4937 www.chusid.com www.buildingproduct.guru |

First thing that came up in a google search https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/consumer-products/allura-class-action-says-fiber-cement-siding-defective/#:~:text=A%20recent%20class%20action%20lawsuit%20claims%20that%20Allura,reportedly%20uses%20fly%20ash%20in%20the%20manufacturing%20process. No idea what the reality is but it would make me a little uncomfortable. |
