I am being asked to consider Tormax as a substitute for Auto Entrances/ICU/Auto Operators. New stand alone healthcare project. ASSA ABLOY is current basis of design. I don't have any experience with them other than research. They are listed in 4specs so I'll start there. |

You may have already discovered that Tormax's US operations are located in Texas. They have a big footprint in the Texas market and I see them so often come through as a substitution that I have been including them as an approved manufacturer. As with many products of this type, service is important, and you should investigate not only who is available to install their products in your area, but also who can service the installed product. I encourage you to spell out "automatic" so readers do not confuse it with "automobile". I had this problem with a door hardware manufacturer to whom I consult. They were calling their product an "auto door closer." As a result, they lost a lot of business to architects who were not interested in closers for their vehicles. Yep, Michael, I thought garage doors or parking gates when I saw the title. |
