Has any had experience with Armstrong Simplesoffit drywall framing system? This looks like a great idea and faster to install than conventional metal stud framed soffits.

I haven't, but it looks brilliant. I particularly like the way it integrates with Axiom perimeter cove trims.

This belongs in the "Wish I had thought of that" category.

I see it as a contractor means and methods decision, whether to use it or propose it as an alternate to a standard framed soffit.

Ken,

I do specify drywall T-grid for suspended ceilings as an option to conventional light-gauge metal framing.

USG and Certainteed soffits require site fabrication with jigs and additional components. The Armstrong product comes prefabricated and appears to be a lot simpler and quicker to install.
