Has anyone else noticed a lot of lag and tabs freezing or outright crashing in SpecLink Cloud? We are doing a free trial and are finding that it frequently crashes or tabs stop responding. Also, clicking sections or paragraphs takes a long time to respond/load. If anyone else knows of a workaround/solution to this, it would be much appreciated! |

Call the rep who signed you up for the free trial. While I have had something like that happen OCCASIONALLY, I haven't had it happen often. On selecting sections, you need to pay attention to the selection queue, which is in the upper right corner. Sometimes it does take awhile, sometimes it is pretty quick. If you select or deselect a LOT of text, it can take awhile. Just keep on eye on the selection queue to see how it is going. For selecting sections in a project, the fastest way is to open the section and select paragraph 0000. I tell people I train to do that, or, if they select them in the project to go get a cup of coffee while the selections turn on. In general, I really like SpecLink -- it has a lot of capabilities that I keep learning about. And they roll out improvements all the time. I have done a lot of customizing to meet our requirements. Like creating simplified sections for small projects, with a linked checklist that have to appropriate text, so someone else editing the specs doesn't have to think too much. I have also created my own office masters for our firm to include some of the text that wasn't in the out-of-box SpecLink, but MasterSpec covered. After I "SpecLink-ized" the language. And lots of other stuff. |

Thank you for the advice about opening sections! Sounds good; we'll have to try that. Also, after more testing, we are now finding that SpecLink is working much better in Chrome than in Edge. Edge would just gradually crash/freeze whatever tabs we had the program open in, but Chrome so far is working great with no noticeable lag and no freezing or crashing. I am liking the SpecLink features so far, too, particularly their auto-formatting and header/footer tools. |

I haven't checked in awhile, but... I usually use Chrome, but I couldn't export the submittals log to Excel through Chrome and have to open in Edge to do that. Other than that, I normally use Chrome. |

Since you are in a trial, you should check other options. Here is a link to a comprehensive list for you to explore. http://discus.4specs.com/discus/messages/23/9834.html |

I've tried both Edge and Chrome, and they both crash/freeze when using SpecLink. Clicking on paragraphs and waiting for them to be turned off reminds me of the days with dial-up internet. |
