Does anyone really know and understand what Crosswalk is and how it can be used? A long time ago, I attended a demonstration and it seemed to be something geared more towards developers. The person leading the demonstration didn't seem to realize that his audience was NOT developers. Noodling around on the Crosswalk site, it does say something about "The cost of an individual user license for Crosswalk for Microsoft Word is $495 for members of the Construction Specifications Institute, and $795 for non-members." What does it mean to have "Crosswalk for Microsoft Word"? I did find this on the site: "The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) created Crosswalk as a digital solution for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community. With decades of leadership in the construction industry, CSI designed Crosswalk to digitally deliver CSI standards MasterFormat®, UniFormat®, and OmniClass®. Through an enterprise-grade application programming interface (API), Crosswalk connects to your software to deliver construction classification standards directly into your project workflows. Crosswalk was developed to further the digital transformation of the construction industry, enhance access to essential standards, and streamline project management. In October 2022, the product suite was expanded with Crosswalk® for Microsoft Word®, a Microsoft Word add-in that allows users to search MasterFormat, UniFormat, and OmniClass numbers and titles and “crosswalk” between standards within their Microsoft Word documents." |
