Hi, I ran into an issue on a project the other day where a GC was asking us to provide a product to comply with the following line in the 06 41 16 - "Plastic-Laminate-Clad Architectural Cabinets" spec section: "Door and Drawer Silencers: ANSI/BHMA A156.16, L03011." When researching this, I could find products in compliance (similar to Rockwood 608), but they were all meant for regular doors/frames & not millwork doors & drawers. The product the GC submitted was similar to "Rockwood 608CA," but it doesn't mention compliance with this standard. Is it possible the MasterSpec section is just wrong? That it isn't supposed to be there? Has anyone else run into this issue? Thanks! |

I remember it from a long time ago. I just deleted that text from the section, and specifically asked Interiors what they wanted me to use. Generally, it as a small, round, clear rubbery thing. They were on the cabinets in the office. |

Loretta, yes I just now ran into this.. it does seem to be those round, clear, self-adhering silencers. I will remove it from my masters. Do you know if there's a way to contact Deltek about this? Thank you! |

There used to be. I no longer use MasterSpecs, so I don't know how to contact them to let them know. |

Hi Melissa, we do have a substantial update planned for later this year regarding that section. I did bring it up to the writer responsible and they are aware. Thank you for bringing this to our attention! |

I left the firm that used MasterSpec and joined a firm that used SpecLink. At first, I REALLY missed MasterSpec (especially the content), but as I get more and more accustomed to SpecLink's tools, I am really enjoying working with it, Plus, SpecLink continues to add content. I like that SpecLink pushes updates, and if I have Office Masters (created from SpecLink masters), updates will get pushed into those. The links are helpful, though one should use caution to make sure not to overly rely on them. The more I discover within SpecLink, the more I enjoy working with it. I think it has some great features and tools. |
