In what section do you specify thermal girts (Cascadia clips, Green girts)? I have specified them in thermal insulation or fiber cement siding or metal wall siding and maybe a few other exterior cladding sections. David G. Axt, CDT, CCS, CSI, SCIP Specifications Consultant Axt Consulting LLC |

David, How about current MasterFormat listing of 07 05 43 - Cladding Support Systems? Then the sixth digit (or 4th pair of numbers) can be used to differentiate between thermally broken and non-thermally broken versions. David R. Combs, CSI, CCS, CCCA, LEED AP Corgan Associates, Inc. I usually specified in the same section as the cladding because the AHJ I would work with viewed them as a system, so it was easy to show and get approved having it all under the same section. |

David, We have been putting them in 077700 Wall Cladding Support Systems. It's easier to manage when your design team changes cladding systems or has more than one type. - |

I have a wall cladding support section in a new section that we carry in 070543. I only specify the thermally broken systems there -- the typical support systems are carried in division 05. Most of our cladding products do not come with their own support systems, so I do separate them out. (and we can also adjust the size to take into account the exterior insulation thickness) |
