The contractor drilled large holes in a gypsum board/metal stud wall to run the sprinkler pipes through. These walls are not rated and do not need firestopping products. However, I need a product to seal the penetration (for aesthetics and sound). The annular space is probably 1 to 2 inches! Can anyone tell me what product to use? |

David, Where the shutoff valve for your toilet penetrates the wall, there is usually a one piece or 2-piece chrome plated escutcheon ring to cover the annular space and sealant at the copper pipe. Perhaps something like this would work? You did not include the diameter of the sprinkler line involved. I knew of another product but I cannot remember it's proper trade name. I will dig deeper.
