What manufacturers would you list for commercial manufactured casework? This is for break rooms, employee areas, etc., and is plastic laminate veneered. So not exactly back-of-house, but not the reception area either. I don't ordinarily do this sort of thing, so I need your help. Thanks. |

Lynn, One known manufacturer is Timberlake Cabinetry, a Division of American Woodmark Corporation. (www.timberlake.com) A known reference for manufactured wood casework is: A. American National Standards Institute/Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (ANSI/KCMA) (www.kcma.org): 1. 161.1 - Minimum Construction and Performance Standards for Kitchen and Vanity Cabinets. 2. Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP). (www.greencabinetsource.com) QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Cabinet Manufacturer: Certified under KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program. Perhaps require manufacturers be ANSI/KCMA certified and avoid naming names. I do this for hollow metal doors and frames. Manufacturer must be a member of SDI or HMMA. |

On occasions when manufactured institutional casework are desired, I have spec'd CampbellRhea (campbellrhea.com), Case Systems (casesystems.com), and LSI Corp (lsi-casework.com). This would typically only be for projects with a lot of repetitive cabinet work. Otherwise, I use a Div 06 section for custom-fabricated casework. |

Wisconsin Bench Manufacturing of Thorp,WI They are in your back yard and they have a decent product and will offer a warranty of up to 10 years. I don't have a ton of experience with them but what I do has been okay. They do provide a balanced door construction to avoid warping which is good. Not every fab shop does that though most do. |

I agree with the idea of using Division 06. If there is only a few break rooms, I'm not sure you would get the benefit of manufactured casework. Of course, many of them can provide custom or semi-custom products that would be in Div 06, so you're not really leaving any potential suppliers out. |
