Client wants a TASTEFUL semi-recessed waste basket to mount adjacent to an ATM in a vestibule. Client has rejected anything from a toilet accessory company, rejected one from Mockett.
I searched 4Specs but came up snake eyes.

Someone out there who does commercial interiors may have a source, even if it is from Europe.

Thanks,

Wayne

Nathan,

Meets the TASTEFULL attribute but is not semi-recessed in the wall. Will get legs and walk out of bank.

Page 14 of the pdf, the GAULA model, looks nice to me.

It might be appealing to your client because it probably is special order, probably has a long lead time and probably is expensive. (Looks like a Scandinavian company.)

You'd have to make your own recess.

Perhaps a Tardis style with blinking light!

When I was a youngster the Houston Zoo had waste barrels that sat inside an oversized fiberglass lion and a scaled-down fiberglass hippopotamus. Both had their jaws wide open so it was easy to toss your hot dog wrappers, etc. in the barrel. They weren't semi-recessed but certainly too large to conveniently walk off with.

If that's not tasteful enough I suggest one modeled after a cast iron coin bank I possess. When you place a coin in Uncle Sam's hand his arm swings up and pops the coin into his mouth. I sit it on my desk when I prepare my income tax return. :-)

Tasteful.

Thanks, now I can't get Charlie the Tuna out of my mind. There is a difference between good taste, and tastes good.

Time for a Friday afternoon beer?

Not sure just what is on the other side of the wall from the ATM vestibule but I have seen some similar installations where they simply put a hole in the wall and inserted something that looked just like a mail slot. Instead of LETTERS being printed on the slot it says TRASH. Then you can place Liz's can on the other side of the wall if you want to. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

Have you thought of employing your design creativity skills by custom-designing a unit of sheet metal (stainless, bronze, brass, copper, etc., or any combo thereof)? Could be ANYTHING you (or client) can "imagine"/want it to be!
