I have found one source for a film to create one way glass - SOLYX: SILVER-1560 Mirrored Silver. I searched all the firms listed at 4Specs.com. I would appreciate of any of all y'all out there know of other sources for a one way mirror film. Thanks, Wayne |

3M doesn't have anything? I thought they had every film in the world. It's just that you can't find it on their website. |

Is 3M keeping secrets. If you know of a 3M product, I am all ears. Every other manufacture listed has films for solar, security, blast-resistance, ballistic resistance, break and enter resistance, Miami-Dade County resistance. |

I've found them through Google, but not on the 3M site. I'm not sure about this, but it's a start. Like I said, the site is impossible to find anything on. When I asked it to search for "privacy" it turned up no results; yet most of the descriptions include the word "privacy"... http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/architectural-markets/home/product-catalog/~/3M-Fasara-Glass-Finishes-Silver-1-50-in-x-98-4-ft?N=2885+3294550746&rt=d |

If you need one-way glass for a NEW glass application, Pilkington makes a glass product, Mirropane. The coating is applied during the glass manufacturing process. (It's not a film - it's a glass product.) http://www.pilkington.com/north-america/usa/english/products/bp/bybenefit/specialapplications/mirropane/home.htm |

Silvered films - designed to reduce solar glare - could possibly act much like a "one-way" glass under the proper lighting conditions. Lighting must be much darker on the observer's side than in the room being observed for these products to work. I'd suggest looking at transmittance and reflectance values for one-way glass and see how the films compare. Then talk to the technical reps for the film. You could get samples and compare them to "one way" glass under simulated lighting conditions. It seems like this should be possible. |
