My client would like a clean contemporary frameless glass transaction window, and I am having a heck of a time finding one. CR Laurence only has framed openings (like this one: http://bit.ly/1l1KMlS)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Depending on the configuration and level of security required, you could simply use an aluminum channel routed into the countertop and the same channel housed in the framing above. Side channels, too, of course, built-in, and sealed. install the glass in the channels. CRL or Hafele or Knape & Vogt should have what's needed.

Am assuming that they want a bullet-resistant window assembly which probably means that there is some kind of frame (and should be installed in a wall assembly with bullet-resistant materials). If they don't need that level of security, it can be detailed any way you want.

If you bury the frames in the wall and top, you'll need to remember to provide some form of removable stop from the secure side to allow replacement or repair.

No no, nothing that robust. It's the check in desk at a doctors office. No channel on the bottom, I can have recessed channels on the head (and jambs if needed), but not on the glass itself

We've detailed around track component parts from EPCO in the past. The simple aluminum tracks with fiber inserts can be recessed flush with the transaction and head surfaces. www.epcohardware.com
