I've been asked to specify this acoustical material/ system for the underside of an exterior domed ceiling in S. FL within a short walk from the Ocean...yikes...First how do you pronounce Baswaphon, than any one have experience specifying it? |

I spec BASWAphon a lot, but always for interior applications. I would be wary of its use in an exterior application, and assume the designer has verified that the mfr recommends this. Not sure how to pronounce it, but I have an office master I'm willing to share. It includes Fellert "Ecoustic" which is a similar system. Jeff at WilsonConsultingInc dot com |

BASWAphon does have a system for protected exterior applications. I've specified both BASWAphon and Fellert. Since these systems are similar, but highly proprietary, I usually write a performance-based specification rather than a descriptive-based one. I've specified BASWAphon on several projects, it's a good although expensive product, but like Jeffrey, only for interior applications. Thanks, Ron, I didn't know they had an exterior-use system. And it's pronounced bazz'-wuh-fon |

Thanks, Dave. I've been mispronouncing the 1st syllable "baas" all these years (as in the sounds made by a herd of sheep). |

We have also specified Pyrok Acoustement when specifying BASWAphon, but always inside the building envelope. |
