Many of the AHJs we deal with require fire-retardant treated lumber or plywood for the combustible nailing base in roof assemblies in Type I construction. I am looking for evidence (factural or anecdotal) of incompatibility between FRTW and TPO membranes at the top of parapets where the membrane is not adhered to the parapet wood nailers. Typically the roofer is to wrap the top of the parapet wall; leaving membrane “dry” over the top of the wood nailer. That said, I have heard of concern if and when adhesive is used on FRTW, the adhesive may release and not hold the membrane in place.
