I've been informed that Carlisle has sold its Deck Coating line to Pecora. For the past 10 years we have specified one of 3 manufacturers for deck coatings on SFL work - Carlisle, Tremco, or Neogard. Granted there are many others, but we have had continued success with these manufacturers, esp on condo work. We will add Sika Sarnafil to our approved roster....strike two for deck coating manufacturers, first it was 3M, now Carlisle, so who will be next to fall to the SFL monster? |

Jerome - you might to also look at Pacific Polymers - Contact Info: Kim Grosch Architectural Marketing KimG@ersystems.com Office: 714.898.0025 Ext. 2104 Cell: 714.493.4067 What has been your personal experience with Tremco? I've had issues with their products in the past. |

Pacific Polymers does not have a current NOA for SFL work, in many instances, habitable space occurs below a deck, Deck coating must have a current Notice of Acceptance (NOA) from Miami-Dade Building Dept, few have this, looking at the Miami Dade Matrix, Pacific Polymers has none. http://www.miamidade.gov/building/pc-search_app.asp Richard we have specified Vulkem products for years with few issues as long as the contractor follows their instructions, as we all know surface prep is most important, in SFL contractors have yet to learn how to follow instructions.... |

What's wrong with specifying Pecora? If you liked the products when they were owned by Carlisle, why should they be a problem when owned by Pecora? I have found Pecora's products to be acceptable. |

Yes Pecora has a fine reputation, but for deck coatings in South Florida over the past 12 years there are only three I have specified - those manuf by Tremco, Carlisle, and Neogard, and have had the best results, primarily because of their field representation. The current Carlisle rep is not going to Pecora, and I am sure that in a year of two Prcora will have a competent experienced (w/carlisle) rep on the job, but since a lot of my work in the past has been Condo work, I am not looking for new products or manufacturers; also several So FL Waterproofing Consultants agree...I hope the transition is smooth for Pecora, as I very much like carlisle deck coatings. |
