Does anyone know of a drawer slide, rated for 150 pounds minimum, that's self-closing?

Specifically speaking:
Drawer Guides: Heavy duty full extension guides, with self-closing feature and positive stop, silenced in and out, detent-in, progressive movement; steel ball-bearing rollers with metal guide channels and integral stops to eliminate accidental removal of drawer. Fabricate guides from cold-rolled steel, 16 gage minimum, electro-zinc plated finish or powder coat finish.
Load capacities:
1. Drawers: Load rating per pair of 150 lbs.
2. Where noted, provide heavy duty coved raceways for both case and drawer with nylon tired, ball bearing rollers; self-centering and self-closing.

(and as a side note, does "load rating per pair" mean that each is 75 lbs or 150 lbs?)

Me, too, but the contractor says Accuride doesn't make one that meets the spec.

Oh. Where are they falling short? The weight? Doesn't that mean the pair of slides evenly carries the load?

From Accuride website: Note: Weight should be evenly distributed across the carriage(s).

The weight. Although on the Accuride website, I found a rating of 175 lbs and self-closing...so I'm skeptical to begin with. I'm hoping for some confirmation or another manufacturer. Grass might have one, too, but their website (and the others I've looked at) are annoying at best.

There are a host of drawer slide manufacturers we turn to when looking for a very specific or odd type:
Hettich
Blum
Knape&Vogt
Hafele
Riverso
Peka System
The problem is that these are usually german or swiss companies and even if there is an english option to their websites and literature, the terminology and standards can be very difficult to translate.

Not to mention one of the above refused to sell one of their tricky products to us because "american cabinet shops were too stupid to install it properly" (A two way drawer slide with door faces on both sides of the cabinet. When pulled open on one side the opposite drawer face stayed in place flush with the case work. Sort of like a Penn and Teller routine.)

Here's what I found on the accuride site:
http://www.accuride.com/Woodworking/Slide/Default.asp

(175 lbs, full extension and self closing)

I suspect that there are manufacturers who meet the spec and further that this cabinet fabricator is one of those mentioned by Steven...because I've not had this questioned before.

You might check the Woodwork Institute website and look for their cabinet hardware approvals list.

"Doesn't meet the spec" means "We haven't done it that way before and we either are (1) too lazy or (2) not smart enough to find the products that do meet the spec. Either way, we aren't going to do it and you can't make us! (or you'll wish you hadn't)."

Time to find another fabricator who actually wants to do the job. Shouldn't be too hard in this economy.

Oops... too cynical? Maybe I should include that in my fee.
