Has anyone come across automatic openers that can be used on custom sliding wood doors that complies with egress requirements? |

I believe that egress doors must swing in the direction of egress. For sliding doors, they must "break away" in the directiion of egress.
If the sliding doors have the break-away function, I'd check the door manufacturers in MasterSpec Section 084229.23, Sliding Automatic Entrances, for companies to investigate, which may offer hardware separately. |

Besam, Gyro Tech, Record-USA and Gildor all make operators that comply with egress requirements when using custom sliding wood doors. |
