I know what MDF is, but what is MCF, Owner wants to use MCF in lieu of MDF for door casings?

Jerome:

I Googled MCF for acronyms and definitions, and found more than 300, from "Money Comes First" to some that cannot be repeated in this forum. None of them come close to fitting the context of door casings or similar trim.

Maybe it means an owner who doesn't know what they're talking about.

On this particular job, that is definitely a possibility, thanks Dave, I also googled MCF, but lacked the patience to look at all the results.

Ask your owner for an RFC. Hee hee. Sorry. Working late as well. Sounds like your owner is confused. I usually send those confused ones a listing of available veneers, types, cuts, etc. along with a nice PDF of some color shots depicting doors. Usually that humbly fixes the situation while educating the owner without issue.

I become more and more convinced that the world will end over a typo.

Someone sending out a link to this years EU Human Resources "Anti-Harrasement" Power Point presentation (there will be a test) and by mistake keys in the instructions to shut down all cooling piping in all nuclear reactors in northern Europe.

I'll venture a guess of "molded composite (or on second thought, cement) fiber."

Thanks all, Bid specs were issued at 4:34am, they have been printed and are on their way to the Bidders...I assumed it was MDF. I am sure MCF mystery will resurface, but at this point, I don't care anymore.
