Has anyone had experience with this company and its products? www.soundtechinc.com

I'm not sure they actually manufacturer acoustic materials, but may just evaluate and install. One of our Interior Designers asked about an installation on a previous project and was told the product was from Johns Mansfield, and the Vendor was SoundTech.

There's not a lot of information of the website, and I haven't contacted them yet; wanted to learn if any of you have information first.

Thanks, Justice League of Specifiers.

I've specified a lot of Manville sound reduction boards and other products, but never gone through another vendor. If you have an acoustical engineer on the project, they can provide the appropriate guidance.

Thanks, Anne...the "Mansfield" is a quote (weirdly enough, when I was readying the original post, I typed "Manville" and then looked back and changed it.)

I know that if it's a vital part of the project, an acoustical engineer or acoustician would definitely be used. This is simply an inquiry at this point.

That should be Jayne Mansfield, I think. (you need to be as old as a specifier to get that reference)

She would have definitely provided sound insulation...and other sorts of insulation, too, I think.

Maybe if you laminated enough of her posters together they would offer some sort of sound attenuation. Not sure if there is an ASTM Standard for that test tho! Wrapping some sweaters around the laminated posters might help too!!

(and just to clarify, I'm not THAT old, but I still understand the reference :P)
