We have a client who wants us to specify white EPDM gaskets. We're trying to sell him on white silicone, but he is not comfortable with the leaching that might occur over time. This is not a glazing application. I only have seen black EPDM. Does anyone know if it's available in custom colors? |

Gerard - EPDM is Black. I ran into this a few years ago. Have you tried Santoprene - it comes in colors, including white. |

I don't think silicone gaskets would leach the way certain types of liquid-applied sealants might (when applied to porous materials). What is the application? I agree that Santoprene is a good option for gaskets. |

Richard and John, Thanks for confirming what I suspected. Silicone gaskets show better test results than Santoprene . We're using the gaskets between GFRC ceiling panels. |

Gerard - Be careful if your using silicones with GFRC. Make sure they won't bleed into the concrete like the sealants can do. |
