I need to spray the underside of the metal deck assembly. Underside is exposed underneath - no thermal barrier. Exterior envelope consultant wants a product that will provide vapor barrier qualities and suggested a closed cell product similar to CertaSpray, but that isn't tested per FM 4450 or UL 1256. Code consultant wants either of these tests or a thermal barrier. Architect says no thermal barrier. Acoustical consultant would like it to have some acoustical properties. Anyone know of a magic product that will make everyone happy? |

Hi Robin. Is this an interior application? Roof deck? No need for fireproofing? Which way is the vapor barrier going; underside of roof deck? Is this existing so you can't put the vapor barrier on top where it belongs? What temperatures and humidity conditions are you dealing with? Is the Architect opposed to spray thermal barrier, gyp board, or both? Products like Ure-K (http://www.internationalcellulose.com/products/urek.html) work great in these applications if I understand what you're trying to do. Please tell us more. |
