I have been told by several manufacturer's they don't make rated roof hatches, but I keep getting requests for them (usually via the life-safety consultant). Do they exist? |

That I know of, no manufacturer produces a fire rated roof hatch. Why would you need one anyway? |

Robin, You will need to look at automatic fire vents and not roof hatches. |

If they're requesting a rated roof hatch because the roof/ceiling assembly requires a rating, then have them refer to Section 711.4 of the 2006 or 2012 IBC (or, Section 712.4 in the 2009 IBC). The section states: "Skylights and other penetrations through a fire-resistance-rated roof deck or slab are permitted to be unprotected, provided that the structural integrity of the fire-resistance-rated roof assembly is maintained."
