Does anyone have any experience with ZIP SystemŽ roof and wall sheathing? The manufacturer is Huber Engineered Woods based in Charlotte NC. The product seems to be an OSB panel with a factory coating (coatings are different for wall application or roof application) and a compatible tape. Because it is OSB, it does not have a Miami/Dade NOA.

What I am looking for is people who have specified it on projects and actually gotten it installed.

Peter,

I have been recommending it for private residential construction here in NE. I first learned about it as a contractor's substitution request. The weather resistant coating and zip tape allows you to skip the building wrap layer. The wall is immediately airtight and easier to seal around penetrations than when the Tyvek flaps around and tears in the wind.

The test data seems to indicate much higher quality and strength than traditional OSBs. It cuts cleanly. When I've seen scraps lying around a job site in the rain, it doesn't immediately turn to mush like traditional OSB. I liked it enough to put it on my house too.
