Has anyone had experience with EnviroStix? It just showed up here. As expected, the manufacturer claims it does everything short of reversing a polar vortex. The contractor likes it because it's supposed to be about 60% of the cost of Ardex or Koester moisture mitigation systems. www.baseking.com/products/envirostix/ |

Interesting. Envirostix showed up on my desk yesterday also! In my case it is already a done deal between the CM and Owner for a large healthcare project in lieu of moisture mitigation. The Owner jumped at the many thousands of dollars in cost savings. This is to be used for resilient tile, sheet vinyl, sheet rubber, and carpet tile. I Looked at the manufacturer's website, Base King, LLC. Not much information is there. I'm with Sheldon, how can this be sooo much more economical when the flooring is shipped to the Base King Facilities in Georgia, Envirostix is then applied to the flooring, and the flooring is then shipped to the jobsite. The Contractor is then suppose to apply a latex based primer to the slab prior to application of the flooring. No primer, no warranty. Sounds like it could be "magic pixie goo" |

I would be suspect of the warranty they might offer. We have tried unsuccessfully to use alternative adhesives (from W.W. Henry) on rubber floors to deal with moisture issues and been told by the rubber manufacturer that their warranty will be void if we use a different adhesive. (Forbo, Nora and Johnsonite all gave us the same response) This company might cover their own product in the case of a failure but will they also cover the actual flooring product? I doubt it. |
