Anyone know what a reasonable (or standard) warranty is for performance on field fabricated flashing (eg: copings)? |

I sometimes specify a 2-year installer's warranty covering installation workmanship to correspond with the roofing system installer's warranty that is typical for our region. The 2-year term is a carry-over from several roofing manufacturer warranty terms and conditions that tied the installing subcontractor into a workmanship warranty. Haven't really pushed for a longer warranty term from a contractor or subcontractor. John T. McGrann, Jr., AIA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP

The two year warranty is typical for our work as well. If the flashing is prefinished then the material (finish) itself will have an extended warranty but not the flashing system as a whole. |
