How would you define "Guide Specifications"?

A Guide Specification directs professionals to decisions critical to the product supplier in order to enable him to provide the best possible price and result after "you have choosen" to specify his product.

Or, an unedited specification section, generally provided by a manufacturer. Owners and designers tend to call these "master" or "office master" specifications. The uneven quality of guide specifications, or ther relative merits for actual use, are another discussion.
