How many offices are using REVIT / BIM? How important is it to have our products available in this format?

Dale,

My firm uses REVIT/BIM in specific project types. We produce the usual project manual using the time tested Q&A with team members.

As a specifier I am not party to creating the model. This is left to grunt intern architect.

Many products are not included in the model such as thin film products (air barrier membranes, sheet metal copings, other flashings, etc). They cloud the issue with facts.

At this point in our REVIT/BIM evolution it not important to have every product in the model.

Perhaps in the future.

we are essentially 100% revit, we just dumped 1/2 of our AutoCAD stations. AutoCAD will be for existing jobs and rework of existing documents only EVERYTHING is revitized

PS
We use the lemon freshened, super green version. In fact we are so green that all of our buildings are eatable. Even I'm eatable. But that is called cannibalism, my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies.

But with a good Chianti...

We're still using both as far as I know. Some small simple projects, like remodels, just don't merit anything beyond AutoCad. (you could almost draw them on the proverbial napkin).

We have several Revit projects and a few AutoCAD projects.......and hand drafted projects. Yes I said "hand drafted"! We even have some hand drafted details incorporated into our CAD/BIM projects.

Don't ask me why. I am just the specifier.

Mostly Revit for some time, but still use AutoCAD for smaller projects, and felt tip and napkins for the real important stuff.

We've decided to tatoo the construction managers so they'll be less prone to require changes.

Marc, as Firesign Theater said in the 70's, "It's good to eat a friend my friend."
