I have a situation where a manufacturer wants to provide the masonry cleaner, water repellant and anti-grafitti coating. But I also have manufacturers that do not provide all 3 products or provide 2 out of 3 products. How do I write a spec so that I am fair to all the manufacturers?

List each product separately with the various manufacturers, but state that the products be compatible where appropriate. (coatings applied after cleaning, for example).

I solved the problem by only listing manufacturers that make all 3 products (cleaners, water repellents and anti-graffiti coating). It was just going to be too complicated and too much liability for mixing and matching of systems from different manufacturers.
