So it is a real word after all: http://wordsmith.org/words/tegular.html So many people told me that Armstrong made it up, I was starting to believe them. |

I've always been fascinated by word etymologies, grammatical rules (and their exceptions), homophones, homonyms, homographs, and etc. Maybe that is why a gravitated toward specification writing and away from construction contract administration. Or was that because of the contractors Nathan referred to in another thread recently. |

Thanks Ken, I found another adjective to describe my work: frustaneous Seriously, has anyone ever specified tegular paving? |

So glad you guys are with wordsmith! I love that daily email. (And for me, anyway, it's time to re-up and pay my dues) |

Lynn, not a subscriber, more of a lurker, I am trying to reduce daily email, last time I subscribed to a daily service, it was joke-a-day, the jokes got pathetic after a while. |

Word-a-Day is never pathetic, unless that's the word for the day! Between Word-a-Day and Girlfriends in God, I know I will have two great emails to start my day. I actually look forward to receiving both. They feed different aspects of my life - my intellect and my soul, sometimes crossing over, too. Stimulation is good! |

I have to keep reminding my ID staff that when used to describe a rabbeted edge on an acoustical panel that 'tegular' is a proprietary name. USG doesn't make 'tegular' edges, although they will supply rabbeted edges. |
