A puppy from my first litter (born 2008) competed at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship over the weekend. She had a GREAT day!!! Maya (GCH CH Meadowlake Simply Sinful) is owned and handled by her co-breeder, Karen Fitzpatrick. Maya's mother is Halo (CH Meadowlake Angel In My Pocket NA NAJ NAP NJP RL1 JE CGC TDI V who is pictured in my avatar). Not only did Maya win Best of Breed, but she was also Best Bred by Exhibitor (BBE) so competed in both the Terrier Group and the BBE Terrier Group. At the end of the day, her accomplishments were: Best of Breed Best Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) Border Terrier Group 1 BBE Terrier Group (thereby competing for BBE Best in Show) Group 2 Terrier Group The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship will be televised on ABC on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Sorry for the long link ... bitly makes you join and I didn't want to http://classic.akc.org/nationalchampionship/show/detail.cfm?layoutType=pop§ion=detail&ri=RN16408402&rt=AKCREG&rc=2012277101&text_event_number=2012277101&rComp=AB&cdeRegion=region&descCountry=country Tracy L. The Havanese in our family [the third to show and be ranked] recently had 3 of 4 days in breed and then from there 3 Group 1 and one Group 2. Finishing 13th in country in Breed and overall |

Congratulations. I never know whether the dog gets more congratulations or the person showing them does -- its a huge job for both. Luna's sire and dam were quite accomplished but she didn't quite make the cut... and so is a legend only in my house. |

Well, if CSI is going to the dogs, at least it's going with impressive talent! The only animals I ever had the pleasure of associating with, were and are mixed breeds (both dogs and cats). So y'all should get sort sort of tiaras or scepters or something to advertise your prowess and expertise - or your dogs should. |

I used to show Schipperke's in the 80's but found the shows around Atlanta at the time never had enough entries to get points. So we "retired" after 7 points and I have had 5 over the years and two (Bart;"Prince Bartholemew Cubbins" & Jack [a rescue])are now allowing me to share the house with them. |

Every dog is a champion, even if it's just in their human's heart, and each deserves to be treated as such. One last brag regarding Maya (setting a new Border Terrier record!) as she retired in March and can now rest on her laurels. http://dogshowpoop.blogspot.com/2013/03/new-border-terrier-record.html Tracy L.
