Testing the waters to see if I can join the conversations here. Happy New Year to all. Looks Like it works. Looking forward to raucous discussions, clarifications, and new knowledge.

Welcome indeed, Cynie. We also try to inject humor into what can be serious business. But above all, we are here to help each other do our jobs better.

Someone on the forum will likely have sufficient experience to share regarding almost any question.

Careful Cynie. Keep in mind that free advise is only worth what you pay for it. Sheldon doesn't give refunds.

I had to go to the Urban Dictionary to find that the French word for grapefruit is also a slang insult. Now does that apply only in France? How about parts of Canada or other French speaking areas of the world? Ya gotta love the differences in cultures.

Oh yes, welcome to the forum. The friendly jibes are just counterpoint to the serious and useful exchange if information and experience. I check it out every work day and sometimes at home just because.

Well, if a term of endearment is "little cabbagehead" (petit chou), I guess the French can say pretty much anything...and of course, we have similar things in American. You can call someone almost anything, and make it an insult or a come-on with the right inflection. Consider calling someone "baby" for example - quite multiple meanings just from the way you say the word.

And Sheldon is a truly dear friend, in spite of what he called me!

DON'T CAPITALIZE THAT! Only a couple of those on this thread can use capital "A"...the rest of us will get chastised.

"arquitontos" - one can only use "Architontos" if one is a registered Architect...and don't forget to celebrate Prune Breakfast month as well as Bird Day today.

Q'est-ce que c'est cet endroit ou je me trouve? Un foret de pamplemousses ou petits choux? Comme c'est curieux. Oooof back to moisture resistant particleboard issues. Thanks for all the welcome notes. Sorry I'm missing the accents...

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Now I am exhausted. I will have to go home to refresh myself, and select between the various gift bottles I received: Scotch (Lagavulin), Baileys Irish Cream, Saint Brendan's Irish cream, and Irish Mist. Decisions, decisions.

Oh, I think anyone can use the term "arquitonto", it is "arquitecto" that would be restricted.
