Or at least be mindful of what we should always be thankful for... Like Rroduct Reps who know their stuff and will return calls on the weekends. Like colleagues who are willing to share not only their expertise but the slings and arrows thay created that expertise. |

Indeed. We have much to be thankful for - good friends (CSI, SCIP, or not), this venue where we can vent, share, and commiserate, gainful employment (even if it's not as full as we'd like), and enough of the things that we need (food, roofs, clothing, etc.). As I listen to the reporting of the turmoil in so many parts of our world, I am grateful that I am here. And I look for ways to share my good fortune with those in need. May your holiday be filled with joy and love and blessings. |

The one thing I am thankful for, despite all of the recent groaning about designers, contractors and so forth is that after having been let go earlier this year, I have been employed full time since mid-July. For that, I am truly thankful |

I'm thankful that those I work with are cognizant of their responsibilities as design professionals to provide good design on all fronts. I’m also thankful to those product reps, contractors, code officials, and especially the clients who also understand and appreciate good design, and are willing participants in the overall process. I’m behind on a couple of deadlines because I spent most of my day hosting a group of student “shadows” home on holiday breaks from their architecture and interior design studies. We all learned a lot from each other over the course of a few hours well spent, and I’m now thankful to know that the next generation, all students in and of this recession, should prove a very promising one. All the best, John. John T. McGrann, Jr., AIA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP

Thanksgiving In the middle of a forest, a hunter was suddenly confronted by a huge, mean bear. In his fear, his attempt to shoot the bear was unsuccessful. So he turned and ran as fast as he could. He ran and ran and ran, until reaching the edge of a steep cliff. His hopes were dim. Seeing no way out, and with the bear closing, he dropped to his knees, opened his arms, and exclaimed, "Dear God! Please give this bear some religion!" Lightning broke the darkened sky. Just a few feet short of the hunter, the bear stopped abruptly and glanced around. Then, the bear looked up to the sky and said, "Thank you God, for the food I'm about to receive..." |

Justatim, That joke is so much funnier when the bear is Jewish and says the Motzi in Hebrew. Everyone, I am thankful for the wisdom, perspective and laughter presented daily on this forum. Thank you all, especially Colin. - |

Richard, having been in the same 'boat', and having also started my new job in July, may I offer both thanks and congratulations with best wishes for many years of inane questions and strange problems to solve. Grateful for Colin and for all of you that often help make this Forum the most interesting and entertaining part of my day. |

Russ, it was a game worth watching (more so for me than for you, however). I'm grateful there were no terrible injuries and the game was cleanly played. |
