Dick has passed away. Laura Messinger, his companion, posted the following to Facebook:

"I have very sad news as of late yesterday afternoon. After only 24 hours in rehab at Ross Manor in Bangor, Dick Eustis, my best friend, left us for a better place. Fortunately, I had seen him in the morning as his neighbor and I took him clothes and his computer. He looked better than usual. All I can say is, God love him. He was such a tremendous friend, and we had a wonderful time together for 4 1/2 years."

Dick has been a friend to many, and a great example of one who believed in "future contributions and service to the Institute."

RIP Richard Eustis.
Another specifier bites the dust.

I wonder if Dick ever visited Eustis, FL, small town of 20k in Central Florida, NW of Orlando, south of the Ocala National Forest. On Lake Eustis. Pretty area, but the town was very quiet.
