We lost a great specifier in Pittsburgh on Feb. 7, 2025 - Robert "Bob" Bailey. Bob was an ardent supporter of CSI and encouraged many to join CSI and take an active part. He was a mentor to so many including myself. Here is a memorial from the chapter newsletter.

Our beloved friend and long-time CSI member Bob Bailey passed away early Friday morning, Feb. 7. His daughter Liz was with him at his passing. Bob was an enthusiastic supporter of CSI and its principles. Many of us are members at Bob’s urging and he was a mentor to so many. Bob graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and worked at WTW and most recently IKM. Bob was past president of the chapter and editor of the Specigram. He was a well-respected spec writer, technical expert and truly a great friend. We will miss him dearly.
Of Brookline, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1959, in Buena Vista, PA, and was the son of the late Marlene G. Bailey (nee Swanson) and John E. "Jack" Bailey. He was the husband of 36 years to the late Debra A. Bailey (nee Belish), who passed away November 18, 2020. He was an accomplished architect and a member of AIA and CSI. He was proud to be certified Specifications & Constructability Specialist, allowing him to confidently mentor other young professionals in the field. He made a significant contribution to the architecture industry in Pittsburgh and will be greatly missed. Bob was an avid model train collector, voracious reader and author, and lover of dogs. He enjoyed hosting parties, sharing memories, music and beer. He was often found talking about baseball or attending local sports events (even while the Pirates are suffering embarrassing losses). Bob was well-loved and respected by friends and colleagues, and his knowledge, charisma and kindness will be fondly remembered. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Bailey (Andrew Gracey) of Brookline.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 13, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, 1065 Brookline Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15226. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 pm with the Reverend John Reynolds officiating. Wake will follow at Spoonwood Brewing Company, 5981 Baptist Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Humane Society in Bob's honor. https://www.americanhumane.org/
