The copper was previously coated with something called Lexanite (spellcheck?). I don't know anything about the roof slope. He'd like the final product to be dull silver or gray colored. Sounds like a job for some miracle product called "Roof-Goop" Suggestions anyone? William C. Its the air dry version of the Megaflon, which is the next generation of pvfd. So, think of it as a very good coating that can be applied to a variety of metal (and non-metal) substrates akin to a 'kynar' based coating. Its going to need a primer and its going to need good surface preparation. Its not going to be happy dealing with this other existing coating that was put on it earlier. I have several high 15 plus story buildings that had late 1960s porcelain coated steel panels, anodized aluminum framing and 'other' coatings on their panels and curtain wall framing and architectural louvers that I did with Coraflon about 6 years ago now. Performing great today. Not so sure about going over the 'lexanite' though. William William C. PPG coatings won't do this (although they will look nice). I recommend a a polyester resin roofing/waterproofing coating be applied over the existing metal roofing - Kemperol by Kemper System is the one I specify for these types of situations. Both Neogard and Sealoflex come to mind. As with any project, selecting the correct product and having it applied by an approved applicator are the keys to success. Let me know if I can help.
