my next impossible question: anyone have experience with EFTE building system walls/roof? (its that stuff used for the Beijing Swimming Cube). I don't have a clue about how to even approach specifying this system.. Anne |

I had no idea what you meant by EFTE, so I Googled it. Wikipedia actually has a fairly good explanation of it. It lists over a dozen other projects that have used it and lists 4 brand names, including the mentioned Texlon product provided by Vector Foiltec. DuPont has a product called Tefzel. I would start by searching the websites of those 4 companies and, if they do not provide spec information, call the manufacturers for help. |

I'm struggling with the same questions on a job we are doing in this office. V-F seems to be the only US manufacturer/fabricator. There is also one in Japan. I think the specification will be a delegated design spec. Please share what you find out. George A. Everding AIA CSI CCS Cannon Design - St. Louis, MO |

We had Novum Structures (listed on 4specs) come in and do a lunch presentation where they featured systems with EFTE. They left a glossy brochure for our designers and told me I could find some technical info on their web site. The problem is that you have to have Flash player to open their site and our IT folks won't allow us to install that, so I can't tell you what help they may have there. |

There was recent article in Arch Record mag. Doesn't talk about specific mfrs (since it's a CES article), but at least helps in better understanding the material/system? http://continuingeducation.construction.com/article.php?L=5&C=418 |

I need to specify it as well, and received the Texlon product data from an overseas source. |
