Does anybody know of a manufacturer that either fabricates standard (or even custom) fixed louvers of copper? These are for a mechanical room air intake located on an exterior wall within a copper wall panel system. Ronald L. Geren, AIA, CSI, CCS, CCCA, SCIP RLGA Technical Services www.specsandcodes.com |

I googled 'copper louver' and came up with "Copper Summit" which is a company listed on 4Specs under 10 7400 "Manufactured Exterior Specialties". |

Yeah, I found a few companies like that, but they're mostly residential. I'm looking at rather large, commercial-type louvers that have performance ratings per AMCA 500-L on stock units of similar design using standard materials (I doubt anyone has actually tested a copper louver, but who knows?). May be worth checking if large louver manufacturers like the ones below will fabricate in copper. 1. Ruskin Company 2. The Airolite Company. 3. C/S Group of Companies. 4. Airline Louvers; Division of Nystrom. 5. American Warming and Ventilating, A Mestek Company. 6. Arrow United Industries. 7. Industrial Louvers, Inc. Guess the question is who can provide the best installation-- a louver "guy" or a copper "guy"? |

Consider using a manufactured and tested aluminum louver behind a decorative copper louver/grille. As long as the copper louver has a higher free area than does the aluminum air control louver, there shouldn't be any performance issues. |

Dave: Thanks for the suggestion. I have mentioned that to the architects and I'm waiting on a decision from them. Ronald L. Geren, AIA, CSI, CCS, CCCA, SCIP RLGA Technical Services www.specsandcodes.com |
