I am currently working on a church project where we have designed an 8 foot by 20 foot tall exterior steel cross. The Owner wants a bronze type color finish. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to achieve this finish?

Try the Copper Development Association (CDA)
I noticed it is steel - you might check with Carboline ot Tnemec - they may have a finish color that will work.

Many years ago the firm I was with designed a building with an exterior steel cross that was gold leafed: very impressive when complete. I know that other materials are used for gilding.

There's this company, too: http://www.spectrapaint.com/fauxfinish/patinas.html. And wasn't there a discussion on this topic some time ago? I have a picture in my mind of a faux metal car, but can't recall any other information.

Lynn, I had to do some digging to find it, have not had the joy of using luminore in a while, too bad, the results are pretty amazing. So here is a plug, if anyone is doing work in Florida and in need of a good metals fabricator, also one who is licensed applicator of luminore, well check out Caylex, based in Orlando, always great results. Cayles just finished some work on a W for my client, very nice quality. They are the ones who introduced me to luminore several years ago.
