Was anyone else surprised that CSI decided to no longer offer articles from the Construction Specifier as PDF's? These were an extremely effective tool for information sharing within my group. Any thoughts or solutions?

Not surprised. Perhaps CSI has decided to no longer make it easy and convenient.

Scan the pages from the hardcopy and make a PDF.

Alternatively, the magazine is available free online after subscribing to CSINewsBrief, the bi-weekly newsletter.

I find it very easy and convenient to print pages from the online Construction Specifier - either to a pdf or to paper. If you are a CSI member, you get notified in the CSI Weekly when the new issue is available and archived issues are available as well.

Has anyone found an effective way to search CS archives for like articles? CSINet had that capability prior to 2004. Archived articles were linked to a TOC organized by MasterFormat. I'd still like to search for, say, all articles on Joint Sealants in the last 7 years. Don't know how to do that anymore.

Perhaps no one knows about...

???

Since the specifier started digital copies of the publication, the archives are maintained on this site. And they are searchable. You can search for a word of your choice, or you can use drop down menus to select just a division or refine to look for specific sections.

For the earlier pdf version of 3 years ago, you can still search those on CISNet as before.

Seems to me to be much easier to use the digital version, including searching and printing off articles than doing your own digital scans.
