I just heard from a committee member that it may be June 2010.

Not official or cast in stone, though.

No word if a review draft will be made availale for public comment.

Update / Correction:

" . . . to the publisher by May 2010 for final edits, and published by November 2010 (subject to change of course)."

Sure would like to see them go back to a ring-binder in lieu of the hard binding. Would seem to be more easily modified when necessary, too,

The hard bound copy was probably so they could charge more money for it ??

I agree with Ralph 100%.

I really dislike having to re-purchase the 80% of the content that hasn't changed, just so I can read what has been changed.

Only reason I can recall given was that it was less expensive to print & ship that way.

PLEASE, bring back the loose-leaf binder, with occasional updates as needed.

The updates could even be online, for us to download and print out like we had to do with SectionFormat and PageFormat. CSI's printing costs would go to zero! That should make the bean-counters happy!

Issue on CD and abandon the bound book. Users can print what they want from the CD. Take a page from Arcom. They stopped printing paper updates of MasterSpec several years ago and the sky did not fall.

Great suggestions. Now let's go a step beyond and create a truly electronic MOP resource, formatted for viewing on a monitor (horizontally oriented), and hotlinked from the table of contents, the index, and the internal cross references. For that matter, don't publish it at all - make it a web-accessed document that is instantly updatable, accessed via a subscription.

For an example of what I mean, see what Adobe has been using for online help files for years - they're very well designed. It's time to stop formatting electronic documents to look like old hard copy documents out of habit, and leverage the capabilities of true electronic documents to serve as an illustration of where BIM and contract documents are going.

Really, it is all changing so fast. We are referencing the IPD in the CDT ‘Ed classes and the new IPD document (one of our sources) is out in February. Every standard changes and... because they want us to buy the updates, they change more often (I know not really but it does bug me sometimes)
I whole heartedly agree kindle, pdf or maybe even Wiki!!!!! post the PRM as part of the WIKI and require a signup or membership for full access to the whole thing without payment all you get is the summary like ASTM does.

I like Wayne's idea, provided they don't charge us $250 for the CD.

Phil's idea may work as well.
