OK folks....where would YOU put this item? The format is the old one... Masterformat-95. The product is a recessed laptop wall mount computer station (like you see outside of exam and patient rooms these days. Where would it live in your project manual?? |

Chart stations under Division 11, one of the numbers associated with medical equipment (don't have an old MF95 handy to reference). |

Jerry- Do you have a copy of the spreadsheet that has conversions and back conversions from MF04 to 95 and to 88? It came out with an early electronic version of MF04. If not, I'd be happy to email it to you. I find it handy for the occassional MF95 jobs we still do, although MF04 has been tweaked a bit from when the spreadsheet was made. I haven't checked to see if an update has been made. |

I would just put it with the architectural woodwork section in Division 6, which is where I put a lot of finish-type items installed either in conjunction with casework or mounted to the walls. I would treat it sort of like a fold-down bench -- but for a computer. |

Thanks for the input folks! George, no, I don't have the conversion table. Feel free to email it to me at jtims@fsarchitects.com. Thanks! |

Please respect copyrights! The spreadsheet that accompanies MasterFormat 2004 is copyrighted material. The member cost of MF04, which includes the book and a CD with transition tools, is only $109, not an unreasonable price for the information it contains. Note that the book and the pdf contain information that is not found in the free information offered by CSI. A free list of MF04 titles is available on CSINet.org, and an online transitionguide also is available. I know neither of these help go from MF04 backward, but perhaps not all readers of this discussion know about these resources. |

Don't worry Sheldon.....I purchased the MasterFormat 2004 book as soon as it was available for purchase. The CD that came with it was in 2 pieces when I received it so I had no clue what was on it, and didn't bother to try and find out since I find most "accompanying CDs" to be pretty worthless. In this case, it sounds like some useful information may have actually been on it! |

Jerry, I downloaded the CD to my computer - it has the complete book plus the comparison matrix between MF95 & MF04 - very helpful I would try to see if CSI would give you a replacement. |

If you are a Masterspec subscriber, they also have conversion matrices, both to and from '04 and '95. It is available on their website: log in and navigate to Specifications Resources > MasterFormat. Of course, these matrices are only for sections in the Masterspec library. |
