Armstrong World Industries, Inc., SS Prelude Plus XL; Chicago Metallic Corporation, 730 Stainless Steel. I believe that gaskets are easily added to any type of grid system, but beware that these are only available in intermediate duty rating; can't use in seismic Calif.

Any body know anything about "SML" stainless steel ceiling grid system by National Rolling Mills?

Understand National was acquired by Worthington Industries, but the system has just disappeared[?????}

There are also special, heavier-duty ceiling grids, with gaskets, designed for clean room applications. These can handle the additional loads of HEPA fan filters, etc., and even maintenance traffic. If this is your application, Ralph, let me know.

Thanks, John. Our need is even beyond clean rooms-- need for a "sealed" ceiling using stainless grid and FRP panels able to contend with nasty and frequent wash-downs, etc.

The problem evolving is that any seals involved need to be field applied-- very carefully!-- and we are finding both 304 and 316 SS grids.

Have found only 1 manufacturer that applies seals durng tee fabrication and that is an aluminum clean-room system.

To the point where we might present a paper to the client and have them make the decision-- is the need drastic enough to warrant the extra cost of a labor intensive installation, and the added maintenance cost when sealed panels need to be removed and re-installed?

To finalize this [for any one interested]-- we are abandoning the gasketed system. Our cinnets have no need for a "sealed" system and we rarely encounter clean room requirements.

Source of this provision in our spec is still "unsolved"!
