Condition: A pair of diesel generator exhaust pipes penetrating the exterior wall of a building. Anyone know of a heat-resistant (and weather-resistant) joint sealant product that would be suitable to seal the annular space? Thanks in advance. |

I'm not sure what the actual temp that you need to resist is, but Link-Seal is available in special compounds that resist temperatures from as low as -60-degrees F.(-51 C) to as high as 400-degrees F. (204 C) http://www.linkseal.com/features.htm |

You might try looking at products used for through penetration firestop systems; may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I would be willing to bet that these guys would be making products that would be what you are looking for if you knew what you were looking for what .... |

Did not receive anticipated service temperatures for the surfaces to which the sealant was expected to bond, but here's a list of the products that were suggested (just for future reference for anyone else seeking the same info): The first four are silicones. 1. TremPro 644 high temperature silicone sealant by Tremco. 2. DOW CORNING® 736 HEAT RESISTANT/SEALANT -- Red RTV adhesive/sealant for temperatures up to 600F/315C. 3. White Lightning® High Heat Silicone Sealant by KPG Industrial. 4. MasterSil #410, one component, silicone sealant by Masterbond (but good for only up to 400 F). 5. Pyrosealant™ by ADL Insulflex, Inc. (per manufacturer: composed of amorphous silica, polydemthyl-siloxane, iron oxide, and a specially developed curing catalyst). |
