Any one care to share a Section for custom made wood booth/benches [per our details] with fabric-covered foam-rubber cushions?

Is this a Div. 06 or Div 12 item?

Benches and cushions in same Section?

I would consider this Div 06 architectural woodwork. Division 12 items are more generally manufactured/catalogue items, though some customization may be possible with them. I'm not sure where I'd put the cushions, depending on how they're made. When I was a contractor, I fabricated and installed the banquette seating for a cafe and made plywood "bases" for the cushions. The owner had the bases separately upholstered, but since they were already made, there was no need for templates or measuring.

I agree with you John; we specify these custom benches in architectutal woodwork.

Ralph, if you tell me your e-mail address I'll send you what we have specified on recent projects.

I do a separate section for banquettes in Division 12, and specify all of it together. you need more than a "woodworker" to make these things; you need someone who can properly tension the springs in the cushions and anchor the whole assembly to the casework portion. And yes, unless the cushions are loose laid, they should be specified together, again because of how the cushions get attached to the banquettes. I don't have access to these sections anymore (my former office has those) but I bet Marc Chavez can find them for you.

Thanks all for your comments, advise, offers and contributions.

Dave, I'm at rliebing@hixson-inc.com

Ms. Whitacre, sincere thanks. Incidentally I don't have the Section in my A/C/S MasterSpec library-- is it part of the interiors library
